As promised, we’d like to present some of our favorite songs from 2010 today. In these 20 (okay, 21…or 22) tracks, you’ll hear 2010 the way we heard it: Unfolding organically, expanding and contracting, a year in which even the smallest of voices could stick out in a sea of largess and hype.
This is because rather than rank our list, or presenting it in some arbitrary order, the AudioSuede 2010 Playlist is presented in chronological order, so you can experience the best of our first year of existence in much the same way we did. In our varying (some might even say competing) tastes, you’ll find all kinds of flavors, from pop, rock, and hip-hop to electro, folk, dance, punk, soul, and sounds so unique we can’t properly pin a label on them. You’ll find local flair from all the different regions our writers have represented: Minnesota and Wisconsin are heavily represented, logically, as well as Portland, New York, and even some UK fare. This playlist is more than just our favorite songs of the year; it’s a portrait of the first year of our site, and all the wonderful people who’ve taken the time and energy to write for it.
