Ratings

As of September 16, 2010, we’ll no longer be adding ratings to our reviews. They’d become detrimental to the time and effort put into the pieces themselves, and complicated our integrity. Our stance on ratings: Don’t just skip to the score. Read the whole truth and decide.

The One-Month Difference (OMD)

On March 1, 2010, AudioSuede introduced its unique feature, the One-Month Difference. With OMDs, we’re acknowledging the ever-changing musical tastes of critics and fans and recognizing that a single impression of an album is not always a definitive view into its merits or flaws. Thus, for every major review, one month to the day after the review is posted the critic who reviewed the work the first time will revisit the album and give some fresh criticisms based on a month’s listening. If his or her opinion has changed, the critic will explain briefly so readers can better understand what may have changed the reviewer’s mind.
For a longer and more detailed explanation of the feature, see our introduction to it here.
